Shehu Sani Stirs Debate over N12 Trillion Spent By Buhari On Defence

Former Kaduna senator and human rights activist has caused a debate on Twitter following a tweet he posted about funds budgeted for defence and security.

Shehu Sani in a post on his official Twitter handle (@ShehuSani) wondered why some governors described the Nigerian Army as ill-equiped despite the trillions spent on defence by the Buhari administration.

“From 2016 to date,over 12 trillion Naira has been budgeted for defense and security;yet the Governors of terrorists infested states like Zamfara and Borno have revealed that our forces are under-equipped to fight this war.Where goes all these monies?”

Reacting to the post by Shehu Sani, some users accused him of playing politics with the security situation, while some said the funds have been embezzled by those in power. Here are some reactions to the tweet by Shehu Sani

@IdrisIbnUmar2 The money disappeared into their personal pockets and the porkets of their relatives. So, insecurity has been a recurative business in Nigeria and that is why they even predicted 20 years to come, we continue in this mess. It very unfortunate!
