TWITTER BAN: Over N10tn Lost By Nigeria Businesses -LCCI
The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) says Nigerian businesses lost an estimated N10.72 trillion to the seven-month Twitter ban.
The disclosure was made by Dr. Chinyere Almona, Director-General, LCCI, in a statement on Friday.
“The Federal Government’s press statement conveying the lifting of the suspension of Twitter operations in Nigeria is well received and commendable.
In business terms, the cost of the seven-month shutdown of Twitter operations in Nigeria is estimated to be N10.72 trillion (26.1billion dollars) according to Netblock’s Cost of Shutdown Tool,” she said.
Reacting to the LCCI’s statement, some social media users slammed the government for the ban, while others questioned the N10tn figure lost by Nigerian businesses
