Fresh Crisis In Delta APC As Spokesman Dumps Party
He Was Expelled – Legal Adviser
A fresh crisis in the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC was unfolding on Wednesday after the party’s spokesman, Ogheneluemu Sylvester Imonina, dumped the party. However, the party in a terse statement said that Imonina was expelled for alleged anti-party activities.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Imonina who belonged to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege tendency of the party tendered his resignation in a letter titled ‘Resignation Of My Membership Of All Progressives Congress And Position As Acting State Publicity Secretary Of The Party.’
His letter read in part: “I want to use this opportunity to thank the leaders of my ward, LGA, APC, Isoko Nation and members of the party across the state for the support given to me while I contributed my quota to the development of the party.
“To everyone who supported me, I say a big thank you” in the letter dated January 18, 2022.
Remarkably, He, however, failed to state if he was defecting to another party.
However, the party in a statement issued by the legal adviser, E.V. Onojeghuo, Esq. who was also described as the new spokesman, said that Imonina and the state welfare secretary, Precious Enuenweayoi were expelled for alleged anti-party activities.
The press statement made available to GreenWhiteGreen GWG on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 was, however, dated January 14, 2022.
Details of the infractions by the spokesman and the welfare secretary were, however, not disclosed spurning tales of a fresh crisis in the Delta State chapter of the APC.
The statement read:
Delta APC Expels former Executive Committee members; Barr. Sylvester O. Imonina and Mr. Precious Enuenweayoi for various offences of Anti-party activities
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta State, is in receipt of reports/letters of expulsion from the Executive Committees of Ozoro Ward 11, Isoko North Local Government in respect of Barr. Sylvester O. Imonina and Obiaruku Ward 10 Ukwuani Local Government in respect of Mr. Precious Enuenweayoi, wherein serious allegations were levelled against Barr. Sylvester O Imonina and Mr Precious Enuenweayoi.
The grave allegations against them are but not limited to the followings:
1. Various acts of Anti-party activities that are inimical to the well-being and progress of the Party.
2. Creating fraction and disaffection amongst members of the Party.
3. Insubordination and disobedience to lawful directives of the Party.
4. Causing disunity amongst members of the Party in their various Wards for ulterior and insidious motives.
5. Carrying out activities that are inimical to the progress, and the name of the Party thereby bringing the name of the Party into public oppobrium and disrepute
The State Caretaker Committee of the Party, having considered the reports and grave allegations against Barr. Sylvester O Imonina and Mr Precious Enuenweayoi, hereby expel them with IMMEDIATE EFFECT from the Party in line with Article 21 of the Party’s Constitution.
Members of the Party and the general public are therefore advised not to have any dealing with them in respect of the Party and/ or any of its activities.
