UK Resumes Processing Of Work, Study Visas In Nigeria

The United Kingdom, UK government has resumed the processing of work and study visa applications in Nigeria according to a post on its verified social media handles.

This was confirmed in an update posted on its verified social media handles.

It read: “From January 24, TLS will resume offering some Priority Visa (PV) Services in our Nigerian visa application centres. PV services will only be available to customers applying at VACs in Nigeria in work and study routes. These services will only be available via the TLS website and can be purchased when making a VAC appointment.”

It would be recalled that the United Kingdom, UK Mission in Nigeria had on January 10, 2022, announced a temporary suspension of the Flexi Appointment, known as the walk-in service, at its Visa Application Centres upon fears of an upsurge of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus in Nigeria inevitably banning processing of work and study visas.

The announcement, however, noted that there would be exceptions where health emergencies and other emergencies were affected and that such would be treated on a case-by-case basis.

The statement had assured on the readiness of the UK mission to attend to applications for student visas within the normal time frame.

“We are aware that large numbers of prospective students are queuing outside of the Visa Application Centre to try and secure a visa appointment. Student applications are being processed within the customer service standard of 15 working days,” the statement added.
