Nigerians have reacted hilariously on social media as Meta founder, Mark Zuckerberg lost $30bn from his net worth.

The Meta boss saw his net worth decrease by almost $30 billion following the record-breaking plunge of Meta shares on Thursday

Forbes reports that With a current net worth of $84.3 billion, it is the first time the 37-year-old hasn’t been one of the 10 richest people on earth since summer 2015. Zuckerberg owns nearly 13% of Meta, which is a rebrand from Facebook. Shares of Meta dropped nearly 25 per cent in after-hours trading after the firm announced lower-than-expected revenue figures, as well as a decline in Facebook users or the first time in its 18-year history.

Zuckerberg’s $29.8 billion loss is the second-largest single-day loss in history, surpassed only by the $35 billion that the world’s richest man Elon Musk lost in November after he tweeted about selling 10% of his Tesla stake.

In reaction to the news, some Nigerians were shocked that he could lose $30bn and still be so wealthy.
