Twitter President: El-Rufai’s Son, Bashir, Under Attack For Ethnic Profiling Of Obi, Moghalu
Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s son, Bashir was under attack on Friday after he was accused of ethnic profiling following his depiction of former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Deputy Governor, Kingsley Moghalu as Nigeria’s Twitter president.
Bashir, age, in the same tweet said that “Peter Obi cannot win the 2023 president election.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the reactions to Bashir have come from far and wide with netzins from Cameroon, Nigeria’s neighbour to the east weighing by remonstrating with him for claiming support for the country in the Thursday’s semi-final AFCON clash with Cameroon. Cameroonians claimed that Bashir El-Rufai’s support was what brought them bad luck.
Cameroon lost the match 1-3 to Egypt on penalties.
In his tweet which appeared on Thursday, Bashir El-Rufai had said:
Peter Obi cannot not win. Kingsley Moghalu is the undisputed President of Nigeria (Twitter Branch), please.
The tweet was viewed by some as divisive and disrespectful of the more older personalities who had also achieved in the professions. While Moghalu served as deputy governor of the Central Bank and as a presidential candidate, Peter Obi was chairman of Fidelity Bank and governor of Anambra state. he is also an accomplished businessman.
Peter Obi had recently given the clearest indication of his willingness to run when he said that he would do so if the office is zoned to the sotheast.
“Yes, I will step into the field to contest for the opportunity to serve this great country as President if my party, the PDP, zones the ticket to the south. But if it is thrown open, Nigerians will also hear from me,” he wrote on Twitter on Tuesday, February 1,” he said.
Responding to Bashir El-Rufai, AGABA IDU 1(Dave IGWESOT) said:

Meanwhile, Bashir El-Rufai also came under attack from another set of Twitter users as critics also taunted him for causing Cameroon’s loss to Egypt after he came out to support Nigeria’s eastern neighbour.
A Cameroonian Twitter user had accused him of bringing bad luck to the team.
