Horror As Gunmen Kill 17 In Fresh Katsina Attack

Karfi ward in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State was attacked by gunmen on Friday who reportedly killed 17 people.

It was learnt that the attackers invaded at least five communities under the Karfi ward on Friday, shooting sporadically at the helpless citizens of the areas and killing 17 while scores were left with various degrees of wounds.

“They came around 11pm on Friday when they started shooting and looting, during which they killed about 17 people,” a source said.

A member representing the local government council at the state house of assembly, Aminu Ibrahim Saidu, who confirmed the incident, said he visited the areas and sympathised with the families over the unfortunate incident.

There are increasing criminal activities recently in Katsina State, with the police authorities attributing it to the influx of bandits from Zamfara and Sokoto states due to the ongoing military operations in those states.
