South-South Govs, Stakeholders, Meet In Uyo March 8
Governors and other top stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the South-South are to hold a special stakeholders’ meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on March 8, the Zonal Working Committee has announced.
The decision on the meeting was taken at the meeting of the ZWC in Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. The meeting was presided over by the National Vice Chairman, South-South, Chief Dan Orbih.
Details of the proposed stakeholders’ meeting was not given but GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the South-South has become a strategic player in the run up to the 2023 General Election with top stakeholders in the party positioning themselves and being positioned for the top ticket in the PDP.
A statement issued by Bishop Etim Ante, the Zonal Publicity Secretary giving a clue as to those expected at the meeting said:
“The Meeting shall be attended by strategic stakeholders of the Party at various levels. This includes the hierarchy of the party structure, former and serving top officers of the Party, Executive and legislative arms of government, both at the National and State levels of PDP family and other critical party leaders across the zone.”
The PDP zonal executive also commended the PDP political office holders from the zone for what the party described as the good working that they are doing and urged them to continue in that spirit.
“The zone resolved to continue to work in harmony with all the party structures, the Government and Legislatures of our party to bring the party in the zone and beyond, to a greater height.”
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the meeting of the PDP South-South stakeholders in Uyo is expected to be the focus of interest for political stakeholders given the evolving permutations on the presidential ticket of the party.
