Aides Mum As Support Grows For Tinubu Over Urine Controversy
A backlash was on Sunday arising against social media trends insinuating that All Progressives Congress, APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu passed urine on himself during a recent visit to the palace of the Awujale of Ijebuland.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that a mark on his dressing had given the impression that Tinubu who is 69 had passed urine on himself. The picture of the seemingly discoloured clothing immediately raised a social media stir with many critics of the APC national leader using it is an opportunity to urge him to go and look after his health.
However, a backlash against the trend came momentarily on twitter as a user who confessed being a critic of Tinubu, came to his defence saying that it was impolite to make allusion to the mark as urine saying that it was too low for Tinubu’s critics to take their politicking to that extent.
The twitter user with the identity Alexandra, said:
Alexandra@alexionzy·1hReplying to @novieverestI can never support Tinubu. That is settled! But don’t you think this low of you to post? Obviously that is not urine and the aide was adjusting his nose mask or something. Why do they cover the picture with an emoji and why is the urine not showing in the second frame? Rubbish!
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that earlier, Reno Omokri, former special assistant to Nigeria’s former President, Goodluck Jonathan had in his reaction insisted that there was nothing wrong with Tinubu peeing on himself saying:
“Did Bola Tinubu actually pee on himself? Look, there is nothing wrong with that. It is an age related issue. I pray he gets better. I also pray it does not happen to me when I am advanced in age. I mean no disrespect, but this man should focus on his health!
“For those explaining away Bola Tinubu’s wet backside as just sweat, please you are not talking to children. You are much more likely to sweat on your BACK than on your buttock area.”
Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and former presidential candidate in his own reaction said:’ “Bola Tinubu is sick”.
He wrote: “Bola Tinubu is sick, he needs medical treatment NOT Nigeria’s Presidential seat. The Presidency should not be converted to a hospice!”
Meanwhile, aides Tinubu and his associates were yet to dabble into the embarrassment of the urine controversy being relished by the critics of the APC National Leader.
