Yoruba Ancestors Will Make Tinubu President – Alaafin
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi, on Sunday, said he is confident that the Yoruba ancestors would make the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, president of Nigeria come 2023, Daily Trust has reported.
The top Yoruba monarch made the assertion when Senator Tinubu and his entourage visited him in his palace in Oyo town, Oyo State.
Immediately upon his arrival Asiwaju Tinubu and Oba Adeyemi were said to have gone into a closed-door meeting where they were said to have held a private discussion. The discussion was not made available to waiting newsmen beyond the role of Yoruba ancestors making Tinubu president as supposedly proclaimed by the revered Alaafin.
Tinubu did not speak to the newsmen on the assertion by the Alaafin that Yoruba ancestors will make him president.
Daily Trust reports that Tinubu soliciting the support of the traditional ruler in his bid to become the president of Nigeria come 2023.
Immediately following the meeting, Tinubu commenced for an appointment to the palace of the Olubadan where he is expected to meet the new Ibadan monarch, Oba Lekan Balogun.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Oba Lekan Balogun served in the Fourth Republic Senate where he was elected on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, the same platform on which Tinubu used to emerge governor of Lagos State for two terms between 1999 and 2007.
Tinubu, who is one of the Presidential aspirants of the APC for the 2023 general elections, had in January visited President Muhammadu Buhari to register his readiness to contest in the 2023 elections.
