Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Zone Will Back Eno – Senator Ekpenyong

Former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Chris Ekpenyong has described Pastor Umo Eno, as a man of proven integrity and competence, who should be supported by all in the forthcoming PDP gubernatorial primaries and General Election in 2023.

Recalling his earlier promise of supporting any aspirant that has the blessing of Governor Udom Emmanuel, Senator Ekpenyong who represents Akwa Ibom North West(Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District, said on Monday that he was impressed that the Governor went for a very credible aspirant.

Senator Ekpenyong, who spoke at his country home in Obot Akara when the Pastor Umo Eno Consultation team visited him, enjoined all Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District residents and indigenes to support the aspiration Pastor Umo Eno also the choice of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.

“I had told the governor earlier that I will support whoever he will choose as his preferred aspirant. I thank the Governor for presenting someone I have known for many years and in whom I am well pleased. I call on all my brothers and sisters, and the people of Akwa Ibom North West that this is our candidate.”

Ekpenyong appreciated Governor Udom for the development projects in Obot Akara especially, the Nto Edino – Ekwerazu Road and bridges, and Ikpe Mbak Eyop roads among others, and expressed hope that Pastor Eno would bring more development projects to the area once he assume office.

“As the crowned Prince of Obot Akara, I stand here to declare that you will succeed.”

Presenting himself, Pastor Umo Eno said he was at the Senator’s country home to officially notify him of his aspiration and seek his blessings ahead of the party’s primaries as well as general elections in 2023.

He recalled that it was during the tenure of Senator Ekpenyong as Deputy Governor under Obong Victor Attah that Royalty Hotel came to limelight, given their patronage and encouragement during the world conference of Mayors that held in the State, and described Ekpenyong as a Statesman and Leader.

He promised to further agribusiness and ensure that the youths are meaningfully engaged adding that Obot Akara will be an industrial belt.

Earlier, the Director General of Campaigns, Amb Assam Assam, SAN and the International Chairman of Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), Barr Emmanuel Enoidem described Senator Ekpenyong as a true, consistent and committed party man who stands by his words.

“Once Senator Chris Ekpenyong supports you, he is ready to go all the way to protect the votes of his people”, Enoidem said.

They had described Pastor Eno as an intelligent and humble entrepreneur who has found favour before the Governor and other stakeholders to serve the State in 2023, and appealed to Senator Ekpenyong to bless and endorse him.

Other stakeholders of Obot Akara who spoke during the visit include Chief Iton Isonguyo, Member Representing Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara State Constituency, Hon Idongesit Ntekpere, and the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Sir Monday Ebong Uko who also re-assured Pastor Umo Eno of bloc vote from the area.

The event was also graced by the Paramount Ruler of Obot Akara, HRM, Akuku Uwa Umo Adiaka, and the Local Government Council Chairman, Lady Agnes Udoenwenwen among others.
