GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the APC Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC had on February 3 inaugurated the state chairmen but failed to administer the oath of office on them bringing a legal question on them.
Monday’s oath taking exercise was called to address the situation.
Speaking against the background of reports that he had been appointed to take over from Gov Buni in the face of alleged intrigues and procrastination on the convention, Bello said:
“The States Chairmen, they took their oath of office today and we discussed progress made so far on Convention and what needs to be done next so that we will achieve the March 26 date for Convention”.
However, when questioned on what capacity he carried out the act, Bello who is a member of the APC CECPC, he said: “Acting Chairman. I have been acting for a while since the Chairman traveled”.
But pressed on the news that he had been appointed as the new chairman to take over from Governor Buni, Governor Bello refused to give an answer, rather saying no comment.
The meeting was attended by all members of the committee including the Secretary, Sen. John Akpanudoedrhe, Women representative, Mrs Stella Okotete, Youth Leader, Mr Ismail Ahmed and Mr David Lyon.
Also in attendance were Prof. Tahir Mamman, Sen. Ali Abba, Sen. Ken Nnamani and Sen. Yusuf Yusuf.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG had earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the removal of Buni as APC chairman and his replacement with Bello following the former’s dithering procrastination to summon the party’s national convention among other reasons.
