Lady Who Got Missing In Lagos BRT Bus Found Dead
Oluwabamise Ayanwola, the lady who went missing after boarding a BRT bus in Lagos, has been found dead, Daily Trust reported on Monday afternoon.
A police source, who confided the development in our correspondent, said the Lagos State Police Command would soon release a statement on it.
Ayanwola was said to be returning to Ota from Ajah on Saturday, February 26, when she boarded the BRT bus en route to Oshodi around 7pm at Chevron bus stop.
Sensing danger as the bus did not pick any other passenger at subsequent bus stops, Oluwabamise reportedly engaged a friend using voice notes on her phone.
The voice notes indicated that the bus driver said he liked Oluwabamise and asked for her name and other details.
She told her friend to pray for her as she became suspicious of the bus driver and in response, the friend told her to alight at Oworonsoki bus stop, way before Oshodi.
While the driver had been on the run but his guarantor had been arrested.
Meanwhile, besides the development of the Lagos lady who got missing in a BRT bus, a 26-year-old employee of a Point of Sale (POS) outlet, Jeceinta Pereire, was on Monday docked in an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly stealing N260,000.
Pereire is charged with conspiracy and theft.
The Prosecution Counsel, Dr Simeon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 9 at the Iyana School area of Iba in Ojo
He said that the defendant, who is an employee of a POS outlet belonging to Mr Princewill Ezenwaka, the complainant stole N260,000 belonging to the complainant.
The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
Magistrate Ademola Adesanya admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until May 9 for mention.
