Osun 2022: Heavy Security As PDP Elects Candidate
There was heavy security presence at Osogbo City Stadium on Tuesday as the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Osun State commenced its governorship primary to elect its candidate for the 2022 governorship election.
Senator Ademola Adeleke 2018 governorship candidate of the PDP party, is coming up against Prince Dotun Babayemi and Mr. Sanya Ominrin for the ticket.

Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, Dele Adeleke and Fatai Akinbade had announced withdrawal from the race.
As part of security measures, a part of the Obafemi Awolowo Way was blocked from traffic.
There was also an unusually large security presence of operatives of State Security Service, police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, men of Road Safety Corps and operatives of Amotekun corps, at the entrance to the venue, as people going in were made to identify themselves.
Traders in the facemask and party insignia also used the opportunity of the convergence of large number of people to make brisk business, selling their wares to party supporters going into the venue.
Apart from screening at the main entrance, there was another screening at the gate leading to the main bowl of the stadium.
As of 09:55 am, none of the officials that would conduct the primary to elect the candidate for the Osun State chapter of the PDP had arrived the venue.
