Tammy Abraham Proving Critics Wrong, Becomes Highest English Goal Scorer In Europe’s Top Flight

Roma’s marksman and current hero of the Stadio Olimpico Tammy Abraham is silencing his doubters with his outstanding performances in Italy and Europe this season.

The Englishman has delivered both domestically and in Europe, showcasing his goalscoring prowess with a total 20 goals this season so far. He is currently among the highest goalscorers in both the Serie A and the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Abraham who was on the receiving end of some criticism during his time at Chelsea, has rejuvenated his career acclimatising to Serie A football like a duck to water, after falling out of favour under boss Thomas Tuchel who replaced the striker with the signing of Romelu Lukaku in the summer.

However, his fine goal scoring form that has seen him nudge up 20 goals this term now puts him in a league of his own as he becomes the first English player in a top-flight European League to score 20+ goals across all competitions this season.

He has also netted more non-penalty goals than any other player for a Serie A team (18) in 2021-22. And after scoring the lone goal in Roma’s last home game, the striker has now helped his team to two successive 1-0 victories in the league as he spearheads them to a chase for Champions League qualification.

Tammy Abraham is quietly going about his business this season in fine fashion, and is fast becoming a world class striker under the guidance of Jose Mourinho as he has nudged his way back into Gareth Southgate’s plans ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
