Mason Mount scored and assisted as Chelsea recorded a sixth straight victory over Norwich City with a 3-1 win at Carrow Road.

The day started gloomy for the North London club with the UK Government freezing Chelsea an asset. But despite all the uncertainty off the field, the Blues remained composed throughout the first half taking lead early on when Trevor Chalobah powerfully headed a Mason Mount corner kick to score his third Premier League goal of the season.

After turning provider for the first goal, Mount then got on the score sheet as he fired a shot into the roof of the net to make it 2-0 to the visitors. Chelsea were in total control and Norwich never looked like getting back into the match as the first half unfolded like a training session.

 The second 45 minutes opened with Mount once more tormenting the Norwich said as drew a save from the goalkeeper who denied him a second goal on the night.

However, Norwich played the better football and they got their reward when Teemu Pukki scored from the penalty spot to give them a lifeline. But any hope of a Norwich comeback when ended as Chelsea restored their two-goal cushion through Havertz to seal a 3-1 win.

Norwich remain bottom of the league and stay five points behind 17th placed Everton who have three games in hand over the Canaries, while that win sees Chelsea seem to have cemented a spot in next season’s Champions League. Here are three key facts as Chelsea beat Noriwch 3-1 ;

• Noriwch City have now lost back-to-back Premier League home games by the same scoreline of 3-1 to Brentford and Chelsea respectively, and that loss to the Blues is their 6th straight defeat in all competitions in their last six games.

• Norwich City have now failed to register a single Premier League win over Chelsea since 1994 after 18 attempts.

• Mason Mount (4 goals and 2 assists vs Norwich in 2021-22) became just the third Chelsea player to be involved in six goals against an opponent in a single Premier League season after Frank Lampard vs Aston Villa in 2009-10 (6) and Diego Costa vs Swansea in 2014-15 (6).
