Knocks, Kudos Trail Ex-Super Eagles Visit To Tinubu

There were mixed reactions on social media over the visit of some ex-Super Eagles players to presidential aspirant and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Some of the players who made the visit to Tinubu include, Austin Okocha, Taribo West, Peter Rufai, Ike Shoronmu, Victor Ikpeba, Obafemi Martins, Nwankwo Kanu amongst others.

Following the news of their visit, social media users slammed the ex-footballers for visiting Tinubu, with some claiming they visited to endorse Asiwaju ahead of the 2023 elections. With some accusing them of collecting money.

Other users defended the players, saying there is nothing wrong in visiting Tinubu, saying the players didn’t say anything about endorsing him.

@Olumuyiwa_ How do you explain former super Eagles players coming together for Tinubu When they know it’s bad optics. These are people that are far from broke. Makes you wonder really why Nigerians are so shameless when politicians offer them money or attention.
