APC Supporter Dies During Abuja Convention

A yet to be identified supporter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) collapsed and died during the convention of Saturday.

The supporter according to Daily Trust was heading for Eagle Square, venue of the convention, when he slumped and passed away.

One of those around him said the deceased first complained of dizziness and collapsed thereafter.

Daily Trust correspondent at the scene witnessed as many of the party’s supporters rushed to assist him, but it ended in futility.

The deceased was latter covered and taken away by some persons led by some security operatives.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG correspondent on the ground further reports that the news that an APC supporter died on the way to the convention ground echoes insinuation about the poor organisation of the convention.

The organization of the convention has been flayed in some quarters. The decision to fence off the Eagles Square from public transportation by more than a kilometer away in some cases led to delegates walking long distances to the convention ground.It is not known if the man who died may have succumbed to exhaustion or some other challenges triggered by the long walk.
