EFCC Confirms Arrest Of Cubana Chief Priest

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has confirmed the arrest of Pascal Okechukwu popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest .

The entertainment entrepreneur according to reports was nabbed by operatives of the EFCC at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja while making plans to board a flight to Owerri, Imo State.

When contacted on Sunday night, the spokesman of EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren confirmed the development but however, shied away from revealing further details of the arrest.

“I can only confirm the arrest to you, no details for now”.

The arrest of the Cubana Chief Priest by the EFCC operatives comes after his associate, Obi Cubana was himself arrest last year over alleged money laundering charges. There were also reports of tax issues related to the arrest of Obi Cubana.

However, the EFCC has yet to bring the issues raised against him to the court of law before the latest arrest of Cubana Chief Priest.

Meanwhile, in other developments a Federal High Court sitting in Sokoto has adjourned hearing in the case of five car dealers standing trial for allegedly violating Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regulations to May 11.

The defendants are: Shehu Ahmad, Shehu Mariga, Aliyu Dauda, Tukur Shehu and Umaru Yabo.

The defendants were arraigned along with their companies, Ijabah Motors, Jangwarzo General Motors, KGN Gumbi Motors, Daraja Motors 2 and Gamji Motors.

They were accused of allegedly failing to submit declaration of activities, in line with extant regulations on customer identification and rendition of returns on transactions to the Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML).
