Foreign forces belonging to Nigeria’s northern neighbours, Niger Republic have infiltrated the country and killed a top ranking  Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) Commander, Abubakar Dan-Buduma, who was recently appointed the group’s commander of its naval forces.

A report by PRNigeria disclosed that the forces operating under the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), carried out the airstrikes which eliminated, Abubakar Dan-Buduma, and 19 others fighters in the Nigeria’s Northeast of LakeChad.

Dan-Buduma and his foot soldiers were eliminated in a coordinated intelligence-led ground and aerial bombardment by the Nigeriene Air Task Force, under Operation Hadin Kai and Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Kwalaram village in Marte Local Government area of Borno state.

In January 2022, PRNigeria reported that ISWAP had the ISWAP leadership reshuffled its cabinet after the loss of their commanders and fighters in aerial bombardments. https://prnigeria.com/2022/01/09/super-tucano-iswap-cabinet/

Some of the appointed commanders included Abubakar Dan-Buduma to oversee Bakkassi Buningil and Doron Buhari; Muhammed Ba’ana for Kirta; Mohamet Aliamir for Kwalaram; Bakura Gana for Jubularam; Malam Musa for Jubularam; and Mohamadu Mustapha for Marte.

Abubakar Dan-Buduma, who had replaced Muhammed Ba’ana, was the commander of ISWAP’s Naval forces Commanding the waterways of Kirta,  Bakassi, Buningil and Doron Buhari, in Marte Local Government Area of Borno state.

Meanwhile, GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported that the bandits, who abducted passengers on a Kaduna-bound train last month, have passed a message to the President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government, warning that they will kill their hostages if their demands are not met.

In a video released on Wednesday, the armed men said they were not interested in money, adding that the Federal Government knows what they were asking for.

The demand has inevitably put the administration on edge given the claim that the president knows their demand.
