How Osinbajo Quietly Freed Himself From Tinubu’s Men In Lagos
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is no longer a member of the Lagos state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and by that freed himself from the reprimand of the chapter which is wholly given to the 2023 presidential ambition of the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande confirmed that the vice president has relocated his membership to the Ogun State chapter of the party.
By relocating his membership, the vice-president may have removed himself from unsavoury actions of the Lagos State chapter of the APC which is dominated by supporters of the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
GreenWhiteGreeen GWG reports that Osinbajo and Tinubu have both declared interest in contesting for the presidential ticket of the APC. Tinubu has by far been adopted by the officials and Lagos State chapter of the APC including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who have been drumming support for his life ambition.
Speaking on Monday to the Daily Independent, Akande said Osinbajo who declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election on the APC platform moved his membership to Ogun State when he revalidated his APC Membership status in Ward One, Ikenne, Ogun State on February 9, 2021.
Prior to his movement, Osinbajo is a chieftain of the Lagos APC with his polling unit at Code 33, Unit 2 Victoria Garden City, Lagos and by relocating to Ogun State may have have freed himself from reprimand.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG further reports that prior to his advent as vice-president and for most of his time in that office, Osinbajo had played his politics from Lagos State where he served as commissioner for two terms in the Tinubu administration.
Having freed himself from the dictates of Tinubu’s men in Lagos, Osinbajo, however, has to contend with his former political godfather in the rest of the Southwest.
