Akwa Ibom PDP Guber Screening: Okon, Eno Assure Supporters Amid Tension

The camps of the leading governorship aspirants in Akwa Ibom were on Thursday gripped with tension as the screening of the aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP got underway in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State on Thursday. Two of the leading aspirants, Pastor Umo Eno and Akan Okon, however, sent assuring words to their supporters.

Media handlers and campaign organisations and Governorship aspirants were through Thursday busy via various social media platforms updating their supporters back in Akwa Ibom of the happenings in Port Harcourt Rivers State, where the screening of the Gubernatorial aspirants held.

Interestingly Governor Udom Emmanuel’s preferred successor, Pastor Umo Eno, in a post wrote: “Dear Party Faithful, I have just been screened by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 5-Man Governorship Screening Committee  led by H. E. Senator Douye Diri at the Party’s  Zonal Office in Port Harcourt. 

“I am happy to report that the screening exercise went perfectly well. Let me use this medium to thank all Akwa Ibomites for their outpour of love and solidarity, particularly all the individuals and  groups that came from Uyo and Akwa Ibomites in Port Harcourt who came out enmass to support me during the screening exercise today.

“Let me thank in no small measure all the leaders of our Team that gave me all the needed encouragement.

Earlier Bokime , one of the Media Assistants to Akan Okon noted: “Mr. Akan Okon, the leading governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom State is in Port Harcourt, Rivers State for the  screening of governorship aspirants by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP”
