I Am Having Fun, Emefiele Says After Meeting Buhari
Speaking after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele has said he is having fun over the claim that the markets are worried over his alleged political aspiration.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Emefiele had been reported in some sections of the media as being among appointees of the president who were directed by the president to leave the offices they occupy upon their alleged political ambitions.
Speaking after the meeting on Thursday, Emefiele told reporters “there will be news.”
Emefiele has been severally reported as having eyes on the presidency with some stakeholders mostly in the agricultural and finance sectors agitating on his behalf.
A famers’ group had also bought the N100 million presidential expression and nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress, APC for Emefiele.
He, however, rejected the forms saying that should he desire for the presidency that he would buy the forms by himself.
Speaking to reporters after his closed door meeting with President Buhari, Emefiele said:
“There is no news now, but there will be news. You heard me, I said there is no news, but there will be news”.
When reminded his reported ambition is creating anxiety among Nigerians and the international community, Emefiele said he was having fun over the development.
According to him: “Let them have heart attack. It’s good to have heart attack. I am having a lot of fun,” Emefiele said following his meeting with President Buhari.
