Reactions As Comedian Mr Sabinus Sues Brands Over Copyright Breach

Popular Nigerian skit maker, Investor Sabinus also known as Mr Funny or Mr Sabinus on Monday revealed via his legal team that he is set to sue makers of two popular Nigerian brands Peak Milk and Gala.

The report disclosed the reason for the legal action against the two companies to be their use of the comedian’s intellectual property to advertise their products without seeking his permission.

According to the skit maker’s legal team, the makers of Gala used Sabinus’ animated picture to promote their products while Peak, used one of his popular comic lines “something hooge”, to promote their products.

In a video that has since gone viral, Sabinus’ legal team disclosed it was suing Peak and Gala owners for N1 billion and N100 million respectively.
