Biafra Day: Pandemonium As Gunmen Invade Schools In Anambra

There was commotion in Anambra as gunmen invaded schools in Onitsha and some parts of the Idemili area of the State, chasing students out of the classrooms due to the ongoing Biafra day. 

The gunmen were said to have also invaded markets and public places to chase people away in order to ensure compliance with the Biafra Day holiday.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG gathered that the gunmen claimed that people should go home saying today is “Biafra Day”.

Every May 30 is set aside yearly to celebrate Biafra Day but this year’s Biafra Day occurred simultaneously with the Monday sit-at-home which was observed yesterday.

Already, there were fears among the people earlier in the day about whether to go out or not and some of the people who stepped out had to return to their various houses due to the mayhem caused by the gunmen in Anambra over Biafra day. 

It was also gathered that there was heavy shooting between security agencies and the gunmen in the Idemili area.

The police in the state had as at the time of filing this report yet to make a formal reaction to the development.
