Nigerians Get Their Kick After Jonathan, Garba Shehu Chance Meeting

Many Nigerians have been getting a kick from what was described as a warm encounter between former President Goodluck Jonathan and his successor’s spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu.

The chance meeting at an Italian National Day event in Abuja on Thursday night brought many Nigerians to again ponder on the reality that politics should not be a divider.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that many of the comments drew out the point that Mallam Garba Shehu as spokesman of Muhammadu Buhari campaign had railed against President Jonathan as incompetent and unfit to be president after May 2015.

Noting the encounter with Jonathan in a tweet, Mallam Garba Shehu said:  

Meeting Jonathan I just ran into President Goodluck Jonathan at the Italian National Day event this evening at the Fraser Suites Hotel, Abuja. We were warm and affable.

Many Nigerians who responded to the tweet threw innuendo at the presidential spokesman over the awkwardness of describing a man he once demoised as being warm.

Many also noted with a tone of sarcasm the plot by alleged members of the Buhari kitchen cabinet to return Jonathan to power.

Politics is interesting. Folks don’t kill yourself for any politicians. Be alive, be safe. By the time, Atiku is announced in Feb , elected you’ll see another side of politicians from the opposing side crossing and congratulating. Open your eyes.
