APC: Outrage Over Announcement Of Lawan As Consensus Candidate

The revelation that the All Progressives Congress, APC had approved Senate President Ahmad Lawan as its 2023 presidential candidate has raised outrage across the polity.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the announcement made by the national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu forced the party’s northern governors into a meeting with the president on Monday evening at the end of which President Muhammadu Buhari repudiated the national chairman.

According to reports, Adamu who made the announcement at the meeting of the National Working Committee, NWC, on Monday in Abuja was also rebuffed by the majority of the NWC.

Sources revealed that some members of the NWC, opposed the move and insisted that other Presidential aspirants including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Engr. David Umahi must be allowed to contest the primary election at the convention scheduled at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
