Oyedepo Vs Adesina: Buhari’s Spokesman On The Spot

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina was on the spot on Wednesday after he bypassed the matter of the N80 billion allegedly stolen from the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, AGF in his twitter attack on the founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo.

He had described Oyedepo as being blinded by hatred for the president in failing to distinguish between the Accountant General of the Federation and the Auditor General of the Federation in his condemnation of corruption in the Buhari government.

This is coming as a response to Oyedepo’s description of Buhari’s government as the most wicked and corrupt in the history of Nigeria.

Recall that during a church programme, Special Prayer for The County on Monday, the Bishop had cried out over the level of hardship faced by Nigerians through corruption.

Oyedepo, stated that the Federal Government claimed to be fighting corruption, but the officials were neck deep in corruption. 

According to him, the N80 billion allegedly stolen by the Auditor-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris would be enough to meet the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, which led to the shutting down of schools since April 14.

In reaction to his statement, Adesina slammed Oyedepo saying he doesn’t understand the difference between the Accountant General and the Auditor General of the Federation.

In a tweet, Adesina wrote: “The bishop at Ota can’t even get his facts right. Blinded by hatred for PMB, he says Auditor General stole N80bn.

“Pity! He doesn’t know the difference between Accountant General (only alleged) and Auditor General. Like OBJ said long ago, we should begin to ordain our own bishops.”
