Reservations On Vote-Buying Trail Outcome Of Ekiti Election

Nigerians were on Sunday expressing reservations after the declaration of the victory of the All Progressive Congress, APC candidate, Biodun Oyebanji at the just concluded governorship elections in Ekiti state.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that After winning 15 out of 16 councils in Ekiti, Biodun Oyebanji, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress was declared winner.

Biodun Oyebanji led other candidates, including PDP’s Bisi Kolawole and SDP’s Engineer Olusegun Oni, a former governor.

Oyebanji, who was the former Secretary to the State Government SSG, to governor Kayode Fayemi, won in 15 out of the 16 council areas of the state.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, who was the former state Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi kolawole won only his Efon Alaye council area.

The former governor of the state and the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Chief Segun Ojo who lost in his ldo- Osi council area to the ruling APC, did not win any council. He only won in his unit and ward.

However, considering the high level of vote buying that was reported from polling centers across the state, social media users could not help but express reservations over the conduct of the election in Ekiti state.
