Portable Finally Honours Police Invitation

Popular musician, Portable on Thursday finally honoured the invitation of the Ogun State Police Command over the alleged assault.

Recall that the state police command directed the singer to report to the nearest police post or be arrested.

Recall that the singer was invited following a viral video showing him and some guys assaulting his former Disc Jockey, simply identified as DJ Chicken.

Portable who spoke in Yoruba in the viral video ordered guys to beat up the DJ for allegedly sending a message to his wife.

The spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi in his reaction ordered Portable to report himself to the nearest police station in the state.

The singer was given 48 hours to report himself to the police.

Portable, however, reported to the state police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta on Wednesday, a week after the invite.

Oyeyemi in a statement released on Thursday said Portable reported at about 5 pm on Wednesday with his father and manager.

According to the spokesman said portable was interrogated and later granted bail.

He said, “He was immediately ordered to be taken to the Public Complain Bureau office by the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, where he was interrogated about his role in the assault melted to the boy in the video.

“However, since the offence committed is a bailable one, and coupled with the strike action embarked upon by the civil servants in the state which also affected our courts, the suspect was released to a reliable surety who promised to produce him anytime he is needed.”

Oyeyemi said DJ Chicken has “also been invited to come and state his side of the story to enable the command complete her investigation on time.”
