According to reports, Prophet Odumeje’s church, The Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, at Bida Road Fegge, was marked by the state government for demolition following claims that the said structure obstructed and blocked the drainage way within Fegge-Onitsha environs.

A video that has been trending online captured the Prophet physically engaging the government officials while trying to stop the demolition but to no avail.

In the video, some of the personnel could be seen landing slaps and punches on the cleric.

Nigerians have taken to their handles to express anger over the demolition of the building. While many sympathized with Prophet Odumeje sharing his pain, others blasted the government over the demolition which they tagged ‘Unjust’

GreenWhiteGreen GWG gathered some reactions to the demolition of Prophet Odumeje’s church property:

@chukwumaharinz1: The assault is wrong, but he has been informed long before now, that building is obstructing a major a drainage which in turn has caused serious loss of properties due to resultant floodings

@idriskeji: I’m a Muslim and a yoruba o. But I know this is very WRONG. we’re being retrogressive

@youngalike: The official has no right to slap him, he is not resisting anything, just having conversations with another official and you slap him form the back

@frankysoe5: Forget abt who he is. Does he have rights as a citizen? If yes why should he be beaten & maltreated. If he is in error there are ways to go abt it. We shouldn’t rejoice over illegality that’s why we all suffer from police brutality let’s not fail to call sin by its right name.

@iroboedwin: Power will come out when Security operative see pastors but hide when arm bandit and bokoharam show face

@taiwoagbolahan9: This officers needs serious orientation, how can you just slap someone who was trying to communicate with you…it’s really heart breaking?
