Warning As Tinubu Sends APC Governors To Wike

The social media space has been buzzing with reactions following reports that some All Progressive Congress (APC), governors on Friday reportedly on the prompting of the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu visited their Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike on Friday in Port-Harcourt. 

According to reports, the governors that visited Wike in Rivers State included Kayode Fayemi; Rotimi Akeredolu and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Ekiti, Ondo, and Lagos States respectively.

Others in their entourage included the Ekiti State Governor-elect, Biodun Oyebanji; former Ekiti State governor and Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Ayodele Fayose, among others.

Wike, who lost the PDP presidential ticket to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, met with the APC chieftains and others at his country home in the Port Harcourt area of the state.

However, as of the time of this report, the purpose of the visit by APC governors with their host remains unknown.

Prior to the APC governors’ visit, there had been reports that the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and Wike meeting in France. The reports were, however, denied by the former Lagos State governor’s media aide, Tunde Rahman, who described them as “fake news”.

But it appears the APC governors may want to bank on the recent fallout of Wike with PDP leadership after the main opposition party’s presidential primary to woo the Rivers governor to their side ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

The report has stirred numerous reactions from social media users as many cautioned Wike not to mingle with the party.

@walecapital: Anti-party activity going on.PDP should call his bluff. A single man cannot be above party laws. Because they refused to pick you as vice presidential candidate in an election that you are not too sure your party gonna win, you turn around and make yourself a Demi-god.
