Tinubu Will Make Naira Equal To Dollar – APC Chief

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as president will stimulate the economy to the level that the dollar will exchange for one naira, a close confidant of the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate said on Wednesday.

Appearing on Arise TV Morning Show, Comrade Ayodele Adewale, immediate past State Organising Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the party said that Tinubu as president will organise the best hands to stimulate the economy and shore up the value of the naira to par with the dollar.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that same promise was credited to the incumbent president when the dollar was exchanging at about N150 to the dollar in 2015.

Aides of President Muhammadu Buhari subsequently denied the claim and seven years after his inauguration, the dollar was selling for N615 on Wednesday in the black market in Lagos.

However, countering the narratives against the Muslim-Muslim ticket which he said was underpinned by the competence that Tinubu would bring to government, Comrade Ayodele said the naira would rise to equal the dollar.

“Our hands are on the plow. We are looking forward. We are looking at the numbers, we are looking at bringing in more numbers, we are looking at the interests and the propenderance of the interests is that of the Nigerian people to have good roads, to have safety of properties and lives, to improve on the economy to the extent that we can drive down the high cost of the dollar to the naira, we are looking at the system where we can bring it at equal par, one naira to one dollar and that is what will move us forward.”

Comrade Ayodele who besides saying that Tinubu would make the dollar equal to the naira also said that the Tinubu government would make 24/7 power supply possible.

He said the drive would be achieved by relegating religion and enthroning competence in government.

“We are looking beyond religion, go to the United Arab Emirate, Dubai, they are predominantly Muslims, but their economy is not religion based. The Nigerian economy that we are trying to evolve into a contemporary economy that will take care of all the whims and caprices of all interests of Nigerians should not be religion based, we should look at competence.

Reiterating the point on the naira, he said:

“I talked about bringing the naira one to the dollar, it is very possible. Asiwaju has the political capital to bring in investors into this country..if people believe in you.”

His assertions were, however, dismissed by Dr. Sam Amadi, his co-panelist who said that Chief MKO Abiola who he claimed was a reputed international businessman should not be compared to Tinubu.

Also speaking on how Tinubu will ensure 24/7 power supply, he said:

“Asiwaju has said that he is going to provide free education to university level and you can imagine if we have such in our system, it will remove all the herculean cost.

Having guaranteed 24 hours supply of power will be something that will come to stay. Bringing policies that will bring investors into the country to create the investment that will create jobs because government alone cannot create jobs.
