Impeachment: Femi Adesina Ridicules Minority Senators’ Move
Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, has described the motion to impeach president Buhari as a failed attempt stating that the lawmakers involved were merely wasting their time.
Adesina revealed this while reacting to the agitations of Senators from opposition parties who issued a six-week ultimatum to the Federal Government to combat the security challenges facing the country.

Recall that, the social media space was set ablaze after some lawmakers during plenary staged a walkout from the Senate.
The Senators threatened to impeach Buhari if he fails to address the pressing security challenges in the country within the allocated time.
Reacting to the development, Adesina disclosed that their move would not go beyond their action in the Senate.
He described the lawmakers who spoke today as a minority of minorities.
Speaking on Channels TV, he said, “I think it was just bravado, and sadly, security is not something you subject to bravado.

“You don’t begin to issue flippant ultimatums in something that is a matter of life and death. Those who spoke today are the minority of minorities, they will have their say as is needful in a democracy but it will not go beyond that.
“They know in their heart of hearts that they cannot achieve what they are saying, they are just wasting the country’s time, wasting the time of the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, they know that they cannot achieve it.
“The truth is that in this kind of scenario, the minority will always have its say while the majority will have its way.”
