The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan has come under attack by social media users over what they complained as his opposition to the impeachment moves against President Muhammadu Buhari.

Recall that, Senators from minority caucus and a few from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from North and South had last Wednesday staged a walk out from the Senate chambers after Senate President Lawan frustrated moves to introduce an impeachment notice against President Buhari.

They chanted ‘Buhari Must Go’ outside the chambers as they vented their frustrations over the state of insecurity in the country.

Reacting to the development, Nigerians via their handles dragged the senate president as many accused him of being a major problem in the country.

Some reactions gathered:

@adaigbo_2022: Senate president Ahmed Lawan has shutdown the Senate over bill to impeach President Buhari. He has forced the house to go on compulsory 7weeks break, by the time the house will reopen election campaign have started. APC is evil

@jadanijovonovv: The Senate made a demand to the President with an Ultimatum to solve the insecurity crisis and then the sorry excuse of a Senate president decided to go on Recess, Ahmed Lawan is as bad a problem to Nigeria as Buhari.

@paschalnwafor_: The truth is that Fulanis terrorist are the biggest threat we have in Nigeria right and it will be hard for a Fulani president or Security chiefs to deal with them decisively.

I’ve always known that Ahmed Lawan is a fraud from day one but My greatest joy is that Igbos are vindicated.

@adacampbell: Ahmed Lawan is a circus clown. He’s the reason Buhari can withdraw $460m from the excess crude account without approval from the National Assembly. Number 1 enemy of the state.

@nwokenapuoku: The impeachment of Ahmed Lawan will do the country more good than the impeachment of Buhari.
