Don’t Allow Peter Obi Set Tone For BBNaija, Atiku’s Man, Reno Warns

Former presidential aide and Atiku Abubakar social media leg man, Reno Omokri has cautioned organisers of the Big Brother Naija reality show against allowing politics and particularly supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi give a wrong perception of the show.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG recalls that the social media space was set ablaze after one of the housemates, Eloswag, was spotted with a customized sweat shirt with the inscription ‘Be Obidient and useful.’

The inscription is believed to be coined from the ‘Obidient and Yusful’ slogan which followers of Obi and his running mate, former Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed have been using to drive the Labour Party campaign on Twitter.

The action has generated massive reactions on social media as ‘Obedient’ Nigerians, as supporters of Obi style themselves, vowed to vote massively for him.

Reacting to the development via his Twitter handle, Reno who is an active supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party, presidential flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, insisted that promoting a political movement on the show may polarize the viewers of the show.

He urged the organizers to take measures that such an action is not repeated.

Omokri wrote: “Dear @bbnaija, your show is much watched in Nigeria. it is beneficial to be apolitical. actions on the programme can polarise viewers, which is something that may have real-world implications. perhaps you may want to take greater care to forestall a reoccurrence.”
