2023: Supporters Back Obi, Caution Rivals On Fake News

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has ignited his supporters to action after he warned opposition parties against sponsoring fake news against him.

The former Governor of Anambra State gave this warning ahead of the official kick-off of the 2023 election campaign.

According to Peter Obi, the opposition has adopted a negative strategy of lying against his party, his ambition and his supporters.

Obi noted that he remains resolute in his commitment to an issue-based and clean campaign.

The presidential candidate warned that he would stand against any plan of deceit to create disaffection among voters who desire credible leaders in the forthcoming election.

Peter Obi in a series of posts on his Twitter account in messages to his supporters and critics alike, wrote, “As we approach the official kick-off of the 2023 election campaign, it has become evident that the opposition has adopted a negative strategy of trolling and insinuating fake news and misinformation in the social media space and blaming the Labour Party, its presidential candidate and their supporters of same.

“We remain resolute in our commitment to an issue-based and clean campaign.

“We will also rebuff all such ploys of deceit and calumny meant to create disaffection among Nigerian’s voting population, who desire credible leadership change.”

Reacting to his post, supporters of Peter Obi took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to air their opinions on the issue.
