Adamu Muslim-Muslim Ticket Nigeria

The Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket fielded by the All Progressives Congress, APC is the best thing for Nigeria, the national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu has said.

Speaking in an interview with the BBC, Adamu also averred that fielding the Muslim-Muslim ticket was the best strategy for the party to win the forthcoming Nigeria election.

GWG reports that the decision of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to pick a Muslim running mate in a country dominated almost equally by Christians and Muslims has raised feathers with many Christians in the APC walking out.

Adamu told the BBC: “You see, with the situation we are in the country, you can’t convince everybody. It’s democracy, everyone has his right but for us, same faith ticket is the best thing for Nigeria presently.

“But we will not relent, we will work to ensure we convince Nigerians to fully support this Tinubu/Shettima ticket, every party has its strategy and this is our strategy that we think can best work for us.”

Besides the challenge from the Muslim-Muslim ticket, Adamu also dismissed fears that the  security and economic challenges in Nigeria would deter the party from winning the forthcoming presidential election.

“Yes, there’s insecurity in the country and every country faces its own kind of insecurity. The media don’t publicise government efforts adequately,” he said.

Meanwhile, former Anambra State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Dan Ulasi has expressed concern on the impact of the aspiration of Mr Peter Obi for the presidency. In an interview on AIT he said that Obi’s aspiration would do more damage to the PDP than to the APC.
