Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has again brought his rivalry with his immediate predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi to fore affirming that he will move without police escort after his tenure.

He said that he would be able to move about freely because he has fulfilled his campaign promises.

Wike revealed this during the flag-off of a flyover project in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.

GWG reports that Wike had in the past repeatedly cried out aloud of how Amaechi goes about Port-Harcourt with a huge escort of soldiers around him anytime he is in Port-Harcourt.

According to the PDP chieftain, he is happy leaving office because his administration has not disgraced the people as he fulfilled his promises.

Wike added that he would not be moving with any escort after exiting from office because only failed leaders move around with security details after leaving office.

He said: “Already, I am leaving. In the next few months, I am gone but I am happy going because my people are happy I did not disgrace them.

“I am going without having any policemen following me on the streets. There is nobody that can touch me in any street because I have done what the people want me to do.

“It is only those that have failed because they have done anything for their people that carry soldiers after leaving office. I don’t have one to follow me. Even if they give me, I won’t take it. I want to move alone,” Wike said in trying to taunt Amaechi over the use of army escort while in Rivers State.
