Writers Of The Johnsons ‘Kill’ Ada Ameh’s Character In New Episode

Writers of popular Africa Magic series The Johnsons have killed off Emu, the character played by the late Ada Ameh in the series.

A two-minute trailer of the new episode of The Johnsons since the death of Ada Ameh was uploaded on social media. The video showed how each family member was dealing with the loss of Emu.

Some of the family members could not hold back her tears as they mourned the actress.

Ada’s onscreen husband Charles Inojie who plays Mr Johnson said a void has been left in his heart.

Another scene showed some of the cast signing a condolence register for the deceased.

During an interview with QEDTV at the night of tributes held in honour of Ada, at the Amphi Theater Freedom Park, Marina, Lagos on Thursday, August 18, Charles stated that although Ada Ameh will be greatly missed, the show would go on without the her.

Speaking at the event, the 51-year-old, said he still finds it difficult to talk about Ada Ameh in past tense since the news of her death broke. He added that words were not enough to qualify her.

He said: “Since the news broke on the 17, it has become impossible to refer to her as the past. Adah is the only person I know will quarrel with you now and if you come to work the next day, she’ll make a soup and say ‘who miss this food ehn, na him know wetin he loose o’.

“She will say yunno go go chop, you dey carry face. Words are not enough to qualify her.”

Others who attended the event include filmmaker Zeb Ejiro, actress Chioma Apotha and singer Joepraize.

Ada Ameh died on Sunday July 17 in Warri Delta State. She was buried on August 26 at her hometown in Benue State.

Before her death, the actress revealed she had been dealing with mental illness following the death of her loved ones.

She spoke about her ordeal in an interview with media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown on Your View TV show published on Friday, July 1.

According to The Johnsons actress, she had been depressed for years and her daughter Ladi’s death made it worse because Ladi was her best friend, and sister and it felt like her world had crumbled.

The 48-year-old also disclosed that she lost six siblings before Ladi died.
