Chief Olabode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has insisted on the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu before the commencement of campaigns for the 2023 elections.

Bode George who spoke in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, on Thursday, said it was wrong for the National Chairman, Presidential candidate and Chairman BoT of the PDP to come from the same part of the country.

Chief Bode George advised the party not to begin the campaign with a divided house urging Ayu to vacate the seat before the campaign begins.

According to him what the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike is asking for is the right thing, in the interest of justice, peace and unity of the party.

GWG recalls that one of Wike’s major demands from the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku is the resignation of Ayu among others.

Bodo George disclosed this shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the election timetable and the campaign will commence on September 28, 2022.
