How New Wife, Mariam Anako Was Received At Ooni’s Palace (Video)
Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife has taken a new wife in the person of Kogi born, Mariam Anako. This is coming months after it was speculated that he would do so.
Video of the wedding ceremony was shared online by Moses Olafare, Ooni’s Director of Media and Publicity.

His new wife’s name is Olori Mariam Anako and it was learnt that the arrangements started in March.
The Ooni of Ife at the time sent a high powered delegation to the family of the new wife to request for her hand in marriage.
The wedding ceremony took place 10 months after Naomi Silekunola, the last wife of the monarch left him.
Prior to his coronation, the Ooni was previously married to Adebukola Bombata in 2008 but the marriage failed. After being coronated, Ooni married Edo-born Zaynab-Otiti Obanor in 2016 but the union lasted for 17 months before their separation.
Ooni then married Silekunola in 2018 and the marriage produced a son before the divorce announcement in December.
GWG reports that repeated efforts by several personalities in Yoruba land to broker a truce between the Ooni and his last queen was to no avail paving the way for Mariam Anako to come in fully as the new Olori.
