More reactions are trailing the Sunday night attack on the convoy of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

The latest are coming from the trio of Senator Uche Ekwunife (PDP-Anambra Central), Mr Chris Azubuogu (APGA-Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency) and Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain.

They condemned the attack in separate statements issued and made available to journalists on Monday in Awka.

Their reactions followed the violent attack on Ubah’s convoy at Nkwo Enugwu Ukwu axis of Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra later Sunday evening by gunmen.

Ekwunife stated that she received with shock the news of the attack on the convoy of her colleague and Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah.

“I condemn the incident in strongest terms. It is unimaginable. My condolences goes to Senator Ubah, the families of the police officers and his other aides  killed and injured in the attack,” she said.

Ekwunife who noted that the incident does present the dreamt Anambra by its founding fathers, urged government to do everything possible to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators.

On her part, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, said she

mourn with the People of Anambra State and the Senator representing her Senatorial District of Anambra South, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah over the horrific attack on his convoy.

“Many lives were lost in this satanic ambush, folk who just set out for the day, just another ordinary day, but never made it home, their lives brutally cut short by heartless gunmen.

“Their families are bleeding, Anambra state is bleeding, we are all bleeding for this rain of bullets is falling on our collective roofs, and with each gruesome attack, another abominable threshold is crossed,” she stated.

Rep. Azubuogu said the attack was reprehensible, added that the news of the attack came to him as a rude shock.

“Even more painful was the confirmation that some of his police escorts and aides lost their lives in that reprehensible and condemnable attack.

“With a heavy heart, I sincerely commiserate with the distinguished Senator; the families of his late aides and the entire Police Community over the lives lost during the attack.

“I am confident, in the face of assurances by Mr. Governor, that security agencies will fish out the perpetrators of the barbaric attack and bring them to book,” he said.
