Ebonyi 2023: Odii Supporters Applaud Supreme Court Decision
Supporters of Dr. Ifeanyi Odii, the Ebonyi PDP governorship candidate for the 2023 election, have applauded the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold his victory as the party’s validly elected candidate.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Apex Court in Abuja unanimously upheld Odii’s victory in the Ebonyi PDP governorship primary election of May 28 and 29.
The court dismissed Sen Obinna Ogba’s (Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone) appeal, which challenged Odii’s victory.
Odii’s supporters told NAN in Abakaliki, Ebonyi’s capital, on Wednesday that the judgment was a welcome development for the state.
Mr Amuche Okoh, a supporter, stated that the decision was for the good of the people of Ebonyi and the advancement of democracy in the country.
Okoh described Odii, also known as “AnyiChuks,” as a man of the people with a good heart who could lead Ebonyi to greatness.
“Anyichuks has laid solid foundations in a variety of human endeavors, particularly economic development and human empowerment, among others.”
Sunday Nwankwo, another supporter, told NAN that if Odii is elected, Ebonyi people will smile again.
Nwankwo praised the Supreme Court’s decision, saying he would always support Odii come 2023.
“This is the man that the people of Ebonyi require as Governor, and I thank God that he has come to stand.” “I congratulate him and the state,” he said.
Okoh stated that Odii, also known as “AnyiChuks,” was a man of the people with a good heart who could lead Ebonyi to the top. Chika Nwoba, the PDP’s State Publicity Secretary, stated that the victory was not only for the PDP but for the people of the state as a whole.
Nwoba urged party members, supporters, and the general public to view the victory as the first step in restoring Ebonyi to the path of good governance that the party has consistently provided since 1999.
“We thank the teeming supporters and members of PDP for the high level of leniency which they kept throughout the moments of the litigations,” he added.
