As the internal crisis in the Ondo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party continues, the party’s leader in the state House of Assembly, Mr Rasheed Elegbeleye, has claimed that the All Progressives Congress planted some people in his constituency to destroy the PDP.

Elegbeleye, who lost the House of Assembly primary election in his constituency, the Akoko North-East Constituency, to another party chieftain, Mr Olanrewaju Akintola, petitioned the Federal High Court to overturn the primary result.

He claimed that the delegates list used for the primary election in May of this year was tampered with.

In a personal statement issued on Sunday, the minority leader slammed some of his party’s detractors who were making comments on social media, accusing them of being APC agents in the PDP.

The lawmaker, who claimed to have improved the lives of his constituents through various empowerment programs, claimed that some APC agents were causing problems in the PDP.

“I don’t need to be joining issues with social media politicians than to be focused on my good planning for my people, which I have been fulfilling,” Elegbeleye said.

“My accomplishment is what is intimidating my opponents, and that is why they cannot come out openly and campaign, but instead will rush to Abuja and meet the leader of the ruling party (APC) to be sponsoring them always against me.”

“A person who has never won his ward or unit for the PDP will come out on social media and call himself a leader, the people we all know as political harlots in our local government and state.”

“As of today, the PDP has no candidate for the House of Assembly in Akoko North-East, but they may be deceiving themselves on social media.” They should come out after the primary election and tell the world if the opposition has held a single meeting in local government.

“They worked against all PDP candidates in 2019, and now they are staying in the PDP and finishing the party with the party’s state leader.”

He insisted that the party currently has no candidate in the constituency until the outcome of the court case, and that anyone claiming to be the party’s candidate was deceiving himself.
