Atiku Sends Loud Message To Wike At Book Launch
Atiku Abubakar was on Wednesday kicking off his presidential campaign with a loud message to Nyesom Wike, his most formidable rival for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Atiku’s message was in the form of the celebrated presence of Wike’s domestic critics in Rivers State at the book launch that was attended by some of the most prominent grandees of the PDP.
GWG reports that since the conclusion of the PDP presidential primaries last June that Wike and some of his allies have been at loggerheads with the mainstream of the PDP and Atiku over alleged injustice done to him in the run-up to the presidential primaries.
However, along the way some of the major allies of Wike in Rivers State who stood with him for most of his seven years in power as governor ditched him and pitched camp with Atiku.
Among those who ditched Wike and showed up at the launch of three books written by Atiku on Wednesday were former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Austin Opara, Senator George Sekibo, Senator Lee Maeba, and former Governor Celestine Omehia.
All four men were conspicuous in the entourage of Governor Wike until the recent primaries when they ditched him and relocated to Abuja and became embedded in the Atiku camp.
All four men were prominently called as the proceedings got underway on Wednesday morning in a directed message to Wike that his allies in Rivers State were with the party’s standard bearer, Atiku.
GWG reports that the launch of the three books focused on Atiku’s political experience and his vision for the country is being attended by some of the most formidable grandees of the PDP led by former Vice President Namadi Sambo.
