Catholic Church In Nigeria Gives New Update On Mbaka, Monastery Move
The Catholic Secretariat in Nigeria on Monday clarified that Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka had not been removed from church activities the Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN) as erroneously reported in some quarters.
The clarification came in the wake of reports that Mbaka had been replaced by another priest as the spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry.
The reports had also claimed that Father Mbaka had been sent to the Monastery to abide.
GWG.NG reports that Father Mbaka had in recent times been a source of irritation for some in the Catholic bureaucracy over his political voyages which climaxed with his curse on the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi who he said would not go anywhere because he was a selfish man.
The national secretariat of the Catholic Church in Nigeria in a response to the reports on Monday insisted that Mbaka had not been removed from the Adoration Ministry.
Rather, it said that the recommendation for Mbaka to spend some time in solitude at a monastery was hinged on the need for him to hear what the Spirit of God had to tell him, but insisted that he was still the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry.
