Supporters Joyful As Refreshed Tinubu Returns (Video)
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Thursday evening to the joyful reception of his supporters who flowed into the Abuja airport tarmac to welcome him.
GWG.NG reports that Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), left the country unceremoniously 12 days ago ostensibly for a business trip according to his aides.
The last time he was seen in public was when he met a group of bishops from Northern Nigeria where he tried to assuage their feelings on the Muslim-Muslim ticket being run by him.
While in the United Kingdom there were issues about his whereabouts climaxing by the claim by his spokesman, Festus Keyamo on Wednesday night that he could not pinpoint him.
Keyamo, however, clarified issues later on Thursday morning when he affirmed that Tinubu was well having spoken to the APC candidate’s son, Seyi.
The APC vice-presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima led the team of enthusiastic supporters to the airport tarmac and cheered endlessly as Tinubu deplaned.
However, with the clamour for his physical presence in the country mounting sources around him assured that Tinubu would be returning before Friday.
The APC women leader in Lagos, Jumoke Okoya-Thomas said emphatically that he would come back before Friday.
Besides the joyful supporters who welcomed him at the airport with the chorus Jagaban, Jagaban, many other supporters of Tinubu were also expressing themselves through text messages.
GWG.NG reports that Tinubu looked refreshed as he stepped down from the plane having escaped much of the pressures that would otherwise have been laid on him here in the past 12 years.
