The reported death of an 18-year-old lady named Eniola in a hotel near the Iwo road axis in Ibadan North East local government area has sparked outrage.

The 18-year-old lady was said to have gone to the hotel in the company of her friends whose identities could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report for a birthday celebration.

Eniola’s aged guardian, amid sobbing and wailing, said the victim left home on Saturday night with her friends for the party.

The woman, who was joined by other protesters at the entrance of the hotel but denied entry in a video that has gone viral, lamented her daughter’s death pointing to the hotel where the party was held.

“She (victim) has lost both of her parents.” I am responsible for her well-being, and I have no inkling that her life will be cut short at such a young age.

“The hotelier should provide a list of lodgers and their various addresses.” This will help in identifying the perpetrators; I do not believe my daughter is dead. He must be produced, so the law will take its course,” she explained.

Adewale Osifeso, spokesman for the Oyo Police Department, said the investigation was ongoing and that updates would be provided as needed. The Nation
