Wike commenced politicking 50,000 aides

A day after he openly declared that he had commenced full blown politicking, Governor Nyesom Wike announced that he has reviewed the appointment of political assistants and increased the number to 50,000.

GWG.NG reports that the Rivers State governor had two days ago given notice of the appointment of 14,000 special assistants, a figure that was a day increased to 28,000 on Wednesday.

On Thursday the governor in a statement issued by his special assistant on media, Kelvin Ebiri said the number has now been upped to 50,000.

The statement read thus:

“Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has reviewed the appointment of Special Assistants on Political Units from 28,000 (Twenty Eight Thousand) to 50,000 (Fifty Thousand). The appointments take immediate effect.”

GWG.NG reports that Governor Wike had on Wednesday night while receiving the full complement of the PDP structure in Cross River State in his personal residence had disclosed that he had commenced full blown politicking ahead of the 2023 general elections, adding that those who want to undermine him and his allies will be doing so at their own peril.

The governor is faced with the task of projecting his successor as governor and other associates in other political positions in the face of his own differences with the national leadership.
